Architect Design Reflection

For this project, I was given three clients to choose. These are fictional clients that the professor has given the students. Two of the clients were families that need big homes and the last client was an elderly couple wanting a single-floor level home. I chose the elderly couple for this project.

We were also were given subdivisions, so we can learn a little on site plans and place the home on the lot. We needed to look up the CC&R's (Codes, Covenants, and Restrictions) for the subdivision area, so the house follows the certain codes.

This house is that I have designed is about 25,000 square feet. The house includes four bedrooms, one library, two bathrooms, double garage, mudroom, laundry room and a utility room.

It was not too bad of a project, it took me at least 2-3 weeks. We also presented to our 'client.' Then later made the their desire changes. The person I met with, loved the house and I didn't need to do too much changes.

What I have learned from this project was that I need to make sure to listen and communicate with the clients. Being the first project that I have done in Revit, I still have a lot more to learn to use the tools and the architect knowledge.
